Whitchurch Alport Football Club are delighted to announce 21 year old utility player, Sean Griffiths, as its latest signing.
Joint boss, Martyn Davies, was thrilled to get the versatile player in at Yockings Park: “Sean is another player I had at Market Drayton and he was one I’d chased for ages, for very good reason,” said Davies. “He’s a really athletic and strong player, can play anywhere really but mainly centre mid or centre half. Sean is great in the air and possesses a real turn of pace and he’s one of those players that always gives 110%.
“The fans will absolutely love watching Sean play, trust me. He’s also the type of lad who will buy into the group and understands what the club is all about, so he’s a great addition for us and will add some much needed bite in key areas.
“The squad overall looks a lot stronger than it did a few weeks ago and I believe we have added the right kind of players in vital areas to give us a great chance of pushing for honours. Confidence is visibly growing within the squad but we won’t rest on our laurels and still have plenty of room for improvement.
“What’s being built at Alport is a togetherness that most clubs can only dream of. We have a squad that’s full of quality and most teams won’t want to play against us, and these are very exciting times for everyone at Yockings Park.”
